Larry developed an interest in electronic dance music back in 2000 by attending the Southern California massive events and frequenting night clubs in San Diego that played house, trance, and drum n' bass. It wasn't until 2001 that he truly discovered his love for house music by listening to the now classic Naked Music mix by Miguel Migs, Nude Tempo. "There was something about house music that grabbed me," Larry says, "it was the sound, the rhythm, the soul, the basslines that I felt pulsating every time I heard the music." Larry's influences come from house legends such as Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, and DJ Sneak as well as today's current house DJs/producers such as DJ Mes, DJ Heather, Justin Long, Worthy, and Fries & Bridges.
In 2004, after being influenced by his closest dj friends, Larry decided to get into DJing. "Watching the DJ behind the decks really intrigued me. It's an immense feeling of satisfaction observing the DJs ability to control the mood of every single person on the dance floor," Larry says. These past few years of being behind the decks have been an educational and personal experience. Not only did he learn the aspects of being a DJ but it taught him a lot about himself. "It was always a huge challenge for me. There were times that I felt very frustrated and wanted to give up. But I kept persevering. I had to dust myself off every time and force myself to get on those turntables."
In 2008, Larry began getting more exposure in the San Diego house scene by playing local San Diego venues like Onyx Room, Red C Lounge, and The Office. He was recruited by Mikey Velazquez to represent HAWT Music in San Diego. His goal in the dance music scene has always been to bring out the positive energy within people and lift the atmosphere to a higher level through music and dance.
